Europe has changed a lot since the time when Islam, the fastest growing religion, took the Old Continent by storm. When a Parisian pensioner is killed by Muslim youths, it sets the whole place ablaze... This event brings Europeans to form a crisis committee, which includes the most prominent minds.

Under the French lead, the think-tank decides to create a laic Europe and to part with all religions. In 2040, the “Religious Exodus” sees 80 million Muslims relocate to Arab countries, 15 million Christians to various “Christian Enclaves”, and 1 million Jews to Israel.

When the Israeli Government is forced by its sudden population increase to resume an aggressive settlement program, a communiqué from the Iranian President warning Israel of terrible repercussions heightens an already peak high tension.

Tel Aviv is the first city to be hit in a massive nuclear attack, prompting an immediate retaliation from Israeli silos and striking three Iranian locations, the Syrian Capital Damascus and Dhahran in Saudi Arabia, instantly halting 25% of all World oil exports. Meanwhile, Europe officially adopts Esperanto as its new language and also changes its name to: Unu Lando (One Land). In order to curb the demographic decline, Unu Lando’s Government introduces forced marriages.Tylos is a 19 year old orphan, groomed to become a prominent architect.

Through a virtual chat line, he falls in love with Lienar, a beautiful seismologist of the same age... She introduces him to the Rezisto group, an anti-Government dissident organisation, through which Tylos is led to steal secret information from the Ministry of Construction where he works.

Meanwhile, a devastated Lienar is forced to marry a complete stranger who happens to be a Government agent. Tylos discovers that his mother is still alive, living in a Religious Enclave called Terra Santa, formally known as La Palma in the Canary Islands. He decides to get Lienar back and to flee with her to Terra Santa... After an amazing journey through an ancient pilgrims’ route from Santiago de Compostella to Seville, they reach their final destination.

After a while, he is heading up the entire Rezisto group and ends up being elected as Terra Santa’s President. Tylos becomes such a threat to the rest of the World that they all unite against him and launch an attack with submarines and war boats.

The resulting shelling kills Lienar, which makes Tylos so upset that he decides to use the local volcano El Cumbre Vieja as a weapon against them. A local volcanologist helps him launch a massive landslide the size of a third of the entire island, into the ocean.

It creates a huge tsunami, which ends up destroying not only his enemies’ fleet but also most of the Western Atlantic shorelines. The morning after, he stands amongst the dead bodies contemplating the devastation he has created...

This is a turning point in the story where people are meant to wonder if freedom is a cause worth killing other people for.
